SELF-CARE IDEAS FOR JULY 4TH

Self-care ideas don’t always have to be about “treating yourself,” but this weekend is a holiday and it’s sure to be hectic, so why not? We’ve gathered a few fun self-care ideas for July 4th for you to try with yourself or share with guests. Happy summer!

1. STAY HYDRATED WITH THESE HEALTHY, DIY POPSICLES RECIPES — Fruit and vegetable based, and all under 5 ingredients, these paletas recipes are healthy, cheap, and easy. Don’t forget to add the self-love and a dash of empowered self-acceptance! Enjoy 🙂
Watermelon Frozen Yogurt Popsicles
Sunshine Beet Popsicles
Strawberry-Lime Popsicles

2. TAKE A BREAK FROM THE SUN AND DO YOURSELF UP WITH ONE OF THESE NATURAL AT-HOME SPA REMEDIES — So maybe you have to drop the kids, or your partner, or your dog, (or everyone) at a friend’s house to get some alone time this weekend.. so be it! Take a break indoors and soak up some shade as you lavish yourself with these at-home treatments.
Do it yourself face masks from Marie Claire
Bath bomb your way to relaxation, or just essential oil your way there, with these scent combos from Hello Glow
Let yourself steep in a tea bath

3. NOM YOUR WAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND — Bring joy into cooking and eating, despite the hot weather. These recipes are all under 30 minutes (including prep and cook), so you can spend more of your time in the sun, or the shade, but certainly away from the kitchen.
Grilled flatbread with peaches and arugula pesto
Grilled watermelon, feta, and basil salad
Quick Summer Tomato and Salmon Pasta

4. TRY PLAY — No elaboration needed here. Do the crazy, whacky, fun thing that is going to leave you giggling, lightheaded, and dizzy (in a good way). Be your inner child.
Build a kite, and go fly it
Go sky-diving
Go to a drive-in movie

The best self-care ideas are the ones that come to you naturally when you ask yourself, “What do I need?” Practice asking yourself this question often and you’ll do a better job of answering the day to day versions — like “what do you want to do?” and “What do you want for dinner” — in a way that truly serves your best interest.
